How we research

Price ranges are compiled from published UK pricing sources and trade body guidance, then sanity-checked against real quotes described to us by readers. Every price page states it is indicative, not a quote.

Review and dates

Pages carry a reviewed date only when they were actually reviewed. We do not display cosmetic "updated" badges.

Editorial vs commercial

Our guides are written before any commercial relationship exists. If we later earn commission from partner links, those links are labelled and marked rel="sponsored", and commercial arrangements never determine rankings or recommendations.

No invented first-hand experience

We do not claim to have tested services or products we have not. Where technical pages benefit from professional review, the reviewer will be credited by name and credential.
